We are looking back at our heritage with one of history’s most visionary architects to see the way forward to vital designs for how we live and work today. Steelcase and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation are joining in a new creative collaboration—a partnering that intends to range from launching reintroductions of iconic pieces to newly authored designs rooted in Frank Lloyd Wright’s principles.
Our connection with Frank Lloyd Wright began in 1939 when we produced the original furniture for Wright’s revolutionary SC Johnson Administration Building in Racine, Wisconsin and has continued since1985 through our ongoing stewardship of Wright’s Meyer May House in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Now, we’re looking ahead with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to continue Wright’s legacy for the world he envisioned. Drawing on the Foundation’s unparalleled archives and applying Wright’s principles of organic architecture, we are honored to help carry on Wright’s vision, “to make life morebeautiful, the world a better one for living in, and to give rhyme, reason, and meaning to life”.
As part of Design Philly, we are introducing the first product line cultivated from our new relationship—the Frank Lloyd Wright Racine Collection by Steelcase. Reflecting our common ground, this launch features pieces that are both reintroductions and reinterpretations of the original furniture from the SC Johnson Administration Building.
Join us for an inspiring evening on October 10th with Steelcase, Corporate Interiors, Designtex and the Wright Foundation at the WorkBetter Lab to explore Wright's life and legacy and discover the Philly debut of the Racine Collection. Registration is required: RSVP here.
