Date: Thursday, October 12th, 6pm-8:30pm
Location: Dina Wind Art Foundation, 1606 S. 8th Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19148
The Dina Wind Art Foundation is pleased to host an evening with Cimone Berman of Argent Mirror.
Cimone has created architectural mirror installations for some of Philadelphia’s most stylish restaurants, and will be in conversation with interior designers Katheryn Lundburg of Studio Briquette (Kalaya, Suraya, Archway) and Hope Velocette of Velocette Design (Wilder, Mission Taqueria, Oyster House) about her practice and her more recent expansion into the world of one-of-a-kind art mirrors created for residential interiors and collectors.
The new work repurposes cast-off glass and transforms it with sophisticated and dramatic chemical applications inspired by antique mirrors. A selection of pieces will be on display throughout the Foundation space, and available for sale.
The discussion will be moderated by John Wind, artist and President of the Dina Wind Art Foundation.
Explore the art, enjoy light refreshments, and take in the views from our South Philly sculpture deck.
Dina Wind (1938-2014) was a trailblazing artist whose bold, welded, abstract metal sculptures challenged gender stereotypes and addressed the environment as she upcycled her materials from the urban waste stream. The Dina Wind Art Foundation believes in the power of art to transform, connect and inspire.
